Back by popular demand, this expert led study day by Lorraine Mepham of Wessex Archaeology provides hands-on training to identify the characteristics of the many varied types of post-Roman pottery. Whether for general interest or for a specific purpose, knowledge gained on this study day is an invaluable asset.
The day begins with a lecture followed by plenty of time spent in the laboratory examining and learning to identify post-Roman pottery. Lorraine provides samples of Anglo Saxon, Medieval, Post Medieval and Industrial wares, so there are plenty of opportunities to acquire new skills.
We recommend you bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Meeting point: Wessex Archaeology, Portway House, Old Sarum Park, Salisbury, SP4 6EB
